In this one-day experiential retreat we will explore the range and depth of our responses to both the familiar and mysterious terrains of our own or another’s dying and death.
How can we become “indigenous”, to the realities of dying? How can we move beyond notions of separation, even annihilation, and all the fears which come with that view, to a lived experience of dying as sacred transition? How can we honour, respect and support a person (and their soul) at the most vulnerable time they are ever likely to experience? And can we find ways of doing this in ways which reflect and honour what is and has been most important to them, irrespective of what the ‘experts’ say?

In this 3-hour workshop we will begin to demystify some of the practicalities associated with death and dying, whilst acknowledging their great mysteries.
An opportunity to explore our curiosity and possible fear around death and dying; to bring to light what we’ve come to accept as the realities of death and dying in our contemporary culture. We’ll begin the journey of reclaiming our sense of belonging in the bigger cycles of life, death and renewal. What aspects of ourselves that we bring with us to our deaths will live on to nourish the beings of the future? Recognising that our individual lives may seem small and insignificant in the bigger picture, we’ll consider what gives meaning to our life and death.
